Series: Palm Sunday 2013
The Portrait of a Savior: Sunday reminds us to celebrate; Monday reminds us to bear fruit; Tuesday reminds us to have Faith and Believe; Wednesday to not lose Hope, and Thursday is when we see the Grace of God.
God has a redemptive plan not only for you, but for your city too.
Spiritual Formation is the lifelong pursuit of being changed and conformed to the image of Christ- from the inside out, and not a matter of external activity alone
Lent is the preparation of the believer through prayer, penace, repentance, almsgiving and self-denial. Its institutional purpose is the heightened in the annual commemoration of Holy Week, marking the death and resurrection of Jesus, which recalls the events of the Bible when Jesus is crucified on Good Friday which then culminates in the celebration of Easter Sunday of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Our Invitation to Journey with Christ begins with Repentance. Spiritual formation is the process of God conforming me to the image of Christ. The Journey begins with a turn: repent. When you repent, your past is forgiven, your today is holy, and your tomorrow is unthirsty. During the process of repentance and especially during Lent we are encouraged to fast, which is the voluntary denial of something you crave for the purpose of intense spiritual focus.
