Colorful, unique, creative, spontaneous & bright - enjoying interesting combinations and relationships is what my artwork is all about - and so am I! In my life so far I am a grateful wife for 28 years; mother of three almost-grown, wonderful humans; artist; pastor, mentor and teacher; daughter, sister and friend; voracious reader; dark chocolate-lover; author of a book (about dyeing fabric); and creator of countless quilts and other works of art and fine craft. Above all else, I am Abba's child and lover-follower of Jesus. My favorite process for making art is to cut cotton fabrics into strips and odd shapes, and then sew them together - again and again. My tools are a sewing machine, rotary cutter and steam iron. Sometimes I dye my colors, some are commercial prints. They take a lot of time and skill to make, but I lovedoing this! I've been making ArtQuilts for over 20 years; now, instead of quilting, I have been mounting my pieced composition onto stretched canvas. I call these smaller works: "Paintings with Fabric." I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them and sharing them with you. |
